I recently need to upgrade the operating system (OS) in my HTC TyTN II from Windows Mobile 6.0 to Windows Mobile 6.1, and had to find a safe way to backup and restore my contacts and calendar items.
I searched around for PIM (Personal Information Management) tools and managed to find an excellent, OS-independent and FREE tool called PIM Backup.
It worked like a breeze and I was able to smoothly restore all my data after the upgrade!

Dictionary - WordNetCE
I have been using Handmark's Oxford dictionary for many years in my Treo 600. I must say that it's a great product which served me well!
After getting my new HTC TyTN II, I have to look for a good dictionary for Windows Mobile. I initially wanted to buy the Windows version of the Handmark dictionary but I chanced upon WordNetCE, which is not only FREE but powerful and easy to use!
Some features that I like very much include:
- simple example sentences
- lexical reference system: synonyms, antonyms and hyponyms
- powerful search feature using wildcards
Bible - Olive Tree's BibleReader
I have been using Olive Tree's BibleReader many years on my Treo 600 and I'm currently using it on my new HTC TyTN II.
And I am very pleased with it so far because it provides free Bibles, commentaries as well as interesting Christian eBooks like The Pilgrim's Progress. It's also very user-friendly and real easy to search for keywords/verses in the Bible.
